Deepika Padukone in Zara
The oh-so-stylish DP chose a Zara cropped top and pencil skirt for a Filmfare event. She added colour to the all-white look with Eina Ahluwalia earrings and a Mawi necklace. Deep red lips and nails did their bit, too. Super-high Louboutins were her other accessory.
Grade: We like, but wonder if she should have junked the earrings and gone with the neckpiece alone. So, an A, not an A+.

Kareena Kapoor in Carven and DvF
The actress came up with two winning looks. When she was announced brand ambassador for Naturals Salon, she chose separates – a lace top from Carven at Moonriver, worn with a matching DvF pencil skirt. Nice heels, too.
Grade: A

Kareena Kapoor in Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna
Kareena resorted to metallic shimmer for another outing, teaming the Rohit Gandhi +Rahul Khanna dress with Saint Laurent sandals. We do wish she would be more adventurous with her hair, but she did look very good.

Katrina Kaif in Tom Ford
Kat is known for her understated style and this turn-out was no different. A simple Tom Ford dress and super high Louboutins with a touch of glitter made up her look. She also wore a trendy cuff by Aquamarine.
Grade: B, because she could do so much more.a (© Varinder Chawla)
Priyanka Chopra in Atsu
The other pick was an elegant, striped Atsu dress. We loved the latter.
Grade: She gets an A for both of these winning looks.a (© Varinder Chawla)angana Ranaut in Dolce & Gabbana
Kangana is, without doubt, the fashion chart topper this time around. She sported many looks, from uber elegant to casual chic and pulled them all off beautifully. Here, it’s a Dolce & Gabbana black dress with lace panel for a day at the races. She carried a black Lady Dior bag and who else can pull off that feathered fascinator without looking a little absurd. Hats off, girl!
Grade: An A+, no question.a (© Varinder Chawla)
Alia Bhatt in Dior
At the Berlin Film Festival, where the film premiered, Alia wore a smart red Dior suit. It totally worked and she wowed the crowd with her attitude.
Grade: For these looks, especially her Berlin turnout, the young Ms Bhatt gets an A.

Fashion: Brunei

Brunei’s culture mainly derived from the Old Malay World, which encompassed the Malay Archipelago and from this stemmed what is known as the Malay Civilisation. Based on historical facts, various cultural elements and foreign civilisations had a hand in influencing the culture of this country. Thus, the influence of culture can be traced to four dominating periods of animism, Hinduism, Islam and the West. However, it was Islam that managed to wound its roots deeply into the culture of Brunei hence it became a way of life and adopted as the state’s ideology and philosophy.
